Dear All,
The second case/appeal mentioned below has now been decided with the appeal dismissed:
http://www.pcs.planningportal.gov.uk/pcsportal/ViewCase.asp?caseid=2180434&coid=2164048
The application was for the demolition of an un-designated asset, outside of a conservation area (although it is on our draft local list) and replacement with a modern shop unit. We had also placed an Article 4 on the building to remove the permitted development right to demolish (following the high profile SAVE case).
The team here is obviously quite happy with the result.

Stella,
Not exactly what you asked for, but similar, hopefully they will still be of interest.
------------------------------
East Street Cooperage, Grimsby
Not locally listed (yet) but on the draft update to our list and backed up by an SoS Urgent Works Notice (Non-Listed Buildings): http://planning.nelincs.gov.uk/portal/pls/portal/NLWEB.RPT_APPLICATION_DETAILS.SHOW?p_arg_names=reference&p_arg_values=DC%2F3%2F10%2FWMA
Application to demolish refused, appealed and dismissed.
And then the building was repaired - http://planning.nelincs.gov.uk/portal/pls/portal/NLWEB.RPT_APPLICATION_DETAILS.SHOW?p_arg_names=reference&p_arg_values=DC%2F752%2F11%2FWMA
I have photos of before and after, its not a full repair but it is enough to stop the building falling into the street!
------------------------------
46 St Peter's Avenue, Cleethorpes
Again, not locally listed (yet) but on the draft list and backed up by Article 4 preventing demolition without consent: http://planning.nelincs.gov.uk/portal/pls/portal/NLWEB.RPT_APPLICATION_DETAILS.SHOW?p_arg_names=reference&p_arg_values=DC%2F409%2F12%2FCRB
Application to demolish and replace refused.
------------------------------
There are also numerous pre-application discussions which have been changed significantly in direction because of the Local List.
Cheers,
Hugh

Subject: Local Lists and Planning refusal
Hi!
Does anyone have a good example of local listing being used to refuse a planning application or appeal? I can't remember the names of any of the cases I've been told about in conversation. I need recent examples if possible, post-PPS5 at least, but under the NPPF would be even better.
Thanks,
Stella
