Jens,
The chemistry of the individual members of the stannite group is reasonably well documented in the Quantitative Data File for Ore Minerals, although we didn't include ferrokesterite, data for which can probably be found in Kissin's paper in Can. Min. essentially discrediting isostannite in favour of ferrokesterite.
Regarding chemical systematics, Hey's Chemical Index predates most of the significant changes to the stannite group I think. The best classification scheme currently is Strunz and Nickel which uses a crystal-chemical approach and is currently favoured by the CNMNC of the IMA. This scheme alaso forms the basis for the classification used on mindat.org.
Cheers
Chris

Subject: Stannite group minerals
Hi all.
Does anybody know of a compositional classification system for minerals in the stannite group (stannite, kėsterite, ferrokėsterite)? While I can find papers that relate to crystallographic differences, I have failed to find a systematic classification scheme.
Many thanks, Jens
