Post-Doc in Input-Output Analysis and Trade Networks at IMT Lucca

IMT Lucca invites applications from strong candidates for a Post-Doctoral Fellow position in Input-Output Analysis and Trade Networks. The position will be financed in the context of FIRB - Programma Futuro in Ricerca 2012, within the project ViWaN - Virtual Water Networks, and will address these issues with an innovative and interdisciplinary approach, which will lead to the understanding of the main drivers and implications of the international virtual water flows. The main objectives are two: a better understanding of the global dynamics in virtual water flows via the international food trade network and the evaluation of the impact of such flows on food security. Other than a PhD in Economics or related field to be earned by the date of appointment, candidates should have a high degree of proficiency in the use of mathematical and statistical methods. The appointed candidate will join the LIME - Laboratory of Innovation Management and Economics (http://lime.imtlucca.it/) Research Unit.
The position is for three years. Remuneration packages are competitive at the international level and include generous research funds; additional benefits may be negotiated with selected applicants.
Successful candidates will work closely with other young researchers, senior researchers and graduate students, and will have a limited teaching load in the School's graduate program (e.g. one or two classes per year).
