Hi,
Margo is right, she also happens to be a personal friend. I got
working with an advocate when I raised a complaint with the Social
Services Customer Relations Team. Like the case you discuss it was
about respite - I could have it - just not where I wanted it. Hazel,
have they tired that route? I write this at a time when I've found
out that my Advocate is dying from Pancreatic Cancer, and has weeks
left. I needed her, for continuity as like other disabled people my
care package is being removed - despite just having come out of
hospital - and as a knock on effect is causing problems with the
"family demographic" - a term used a lot by my former Community
Psychiatric Nurse. I had been reluctant to be this open on this forum
as it is owned/run by my Head of School and didn't want to let the
University like this - but its out now!
Becky.
