Dear Peter,
in chapter 12 of his Poetics Aristotle divides the last part - the Choric
song - into Parode and Stasimon.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes from Salzburg,
Wolfgang

Dear Peter,
do you mean the dénouement, resolution or catastrophe?
Best wishes,
Wolfgang

Does anyone know the technical term for the act of resolution which forms
the end of a Greek tragedy? Or the similar one at the end of a
Shakespearean tragedy which restores normality?
Hard at work here, never mind yer New Year gambols.
