ResearchAssistant in Participatory Interaction Design - Specific Purpose Contract (Funded for 30 months)
Salary: €30,200 per annum
QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. degree (preferable) or Masters Degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction or related discipline.
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This post arises as a result of the University of Limerick's participation in the FP7 ICT Integrating Project meSch - Material Encounters in Digital Cultural Heritage, which brings together expertise from 12 European partners with the goal of designing, developing and deploying tools for the creation of tangible interactive experiences that connect the physical experience of museums and exhibitions with relevant digital cross-media information in novel ways. The Research Assistant will work as part of the UL contribution to the meSch project: namely the envisioning and realisation of co-design and participatory design activities, the development of co-design exercises with participating museums working towards the realisation of meSch interactive artefacts and exhibitions, andongoing evaluation of meSch demos and prototypes. The Research Assistant will be based at the Interaction Design Centre, Dept. of ComputerScience and Information Systems.
