Dear Colleagues,
Study Abroad ~ translation of marks or credit?
At King's College London we are reviewing the accreditation mechanisms we use for students studying abroad. The current default position is that students transfer credit only, however, we do also have the provision to transfer marks providing a translation scheme has been approved in advance.
If you could answer the following questions it would be very useful:
1. Do your students transfer the credit only that has been achieved whilst abroad, or the credit and the mark?
2. If marks are transferred, does your institution take the marks at face value from the host institution or do you translate the marks?
3. If marks are translated who devises the translation scheme? Is this done at programme level or centrally?
