The Industrial Mathematics KTN and EDF Energy (http://www.edfenergy.com/) are seeking a PhD student for a shorter KTP. The project can be undertaken by any current PhD student who would like to gain industrial experience during their studies. The students will receive 1,500 pounds per month tax free during the duration of the project and an extension to the time allocated for PhD completion. Candidate profile:
The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of data analysis and statistics, in particular knowledge of extreme value statistics will be appreciated. Previous experience in statistical modeling of rainfall or other meteorological and environmental variable will also be appreciated.
Software development could be required using the R platform.
Duration of the project: 6 months
Location: R&D Centre, London
