Applications are invited for a Senior Research Assistant/Research Fellow in Health Statistics in the Southampton Statistical Sciences Research Institute (S3RI, http://www.southampton.ac.uk/s3ri/).

Your duties will include; providing statistical support for various projects undertaken by members of the Faculty of Health Sciences, including advice on design questions, data analysis and statistical packages. This will be done in coordination with other members of S3RI which you will have to organise. You will also be encouraged to develop your own lines of research and apply for externally funded research grants.
You will have or be close to completing a PhD in Statistics or a related discipline, or an MSc in statistics with some professional experience. You will have knowledge of statistical modelling and inference, and experience of statistical computing and knowledge and experience in statistical packages including SPSS, SAS, MINITAB or STATA. Knowledge and experience of managing health-related datasets would be advantageous.
The position is tenable from 1 March 2013, or as soon as possible thereafter.
