Pete Wrobel called me today, and we had a long chat about the often complex dynamics of conference organisation.
As Sallie Robins says, Pete agrees with the constructively critical comments made here and elsewhere, and, while I won't go into details, I am entirely satisfied that the selection of a qualified and representative panel was always uppermost in Pete's mind.
The panel as it stands today is a very good one. Every member of it has a direct interest and expertise in open-access publishing, and it should be a very interesting discussion. If you'd like to attend and haven't already expressed an interest, get in there quick, as the list may soon close owing to the limited capacity of the venue.

And for anyone wondering, Pete tells me that he agreed absolutely with the comments on Twitter and elsewhere – including from some panellists – about all-male panels, so thanks for the feedback.
