The School of Environment, Natural Resources and Geography seeks to
appoint a human geographer. We invite applicants to this exciting
permanent position from those with interests in any aspect of the
discipline, but expertise in one or more of the following areas would be
desirable: social, cultural, political, or economic geography, in
particular, environment-society relations, geographies of
nature-culture, cultural adaptation to global change.
You will have a PhD or equivalent in Geography or a relevant related
area, with a track record of quality publications and attracting
research funding appropriate to the level of appointment, and experience
of teaching at university level. The successful candidate will be
expected to make a contribution to the research activity of the School,
and to develop a research programme in his/her specialist discipline
that will attract external funding and recognition. They will also make
an important contribution to the teaching of geography and related
disciplines at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The appointment will be made in the range of £30,424 - £36,298 (Grade 7)
or £37,382 - £44,607 (Grade 8) depending on previous experience.
