My client is a highly established and expanding pharmaceutical organisation headquartered in Switzerland and are offering a great opportunity to join their Basel office. Their innovative drugs and strong pipeline have a broad scope across many therapeutic areas.
Due to expansion a new opportunity is available for a Principal Scientist in Bioinformatics. This is a critical role and will be responsible for providing virology input into clinical and preclinical study protocols.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Provide analysis and communicating findings of virology resistance data
• Coordinating and designing new bioinformatics methods and tools
• Analyse DNA sequences derived from preclinical and clinical samples from the development team
• Characterizing mechanisms of reduced susceptibility to antivirals in preclinical or clinical studies
Requirements:
• PhD degree with experience in either academia or biotechnology industry
• Experience in linear models, machine learning and multivariate methods
• Proven experience in the analysis of infectious disease drug candidates with respect to efficacy and resistance
• Perform bioinformatics analyses with focus on virology and host markers of antiviral response
