The School of Geography at the University of Leeds has a number of PhD scholarships that are available for UK/EU and international applicants wishing to commence PhD studies in September 2013.

The PhD funding that the School of Geography currently has to offer includes:
1 x ESRC QUOTA STUDENTSHIP & ESRC ADVANCED QUANTITATIVE METHODS SCHOLARSHIPS
Available through the ESRC's White Rose Doctoral Training Centre (WR DTC) for students who wish to develop their own PhD topic on a theme that relates to the research interests of one of the School's 3 human geography research clusters: Centre for Spatial Analysis and Policy (CSAP); Cities and Social Justice and Citizenship and Belonging. Scholarships are available on either a 1+3 or +3 basis. In addition, the School can also nominate a candidate for one of the WR DTC's Advanced Quantitative Methods (AQM) scholarships. Deadline for applications: 1st February 2013.
LEEDS INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIPS (LIRS) - up to 9 available across the University
Available for international students who wish to conduct PhD research that relates to the research interests of any one of the School's research clusters: Centre for Spatial Analysis and Policy (CSAP); Cities and Social Justice; Citizenship and Belonging; Ecology and Global Change and River Basin Processes and Management. Deadline for applications: 21st January 2013.
UNIVERSITY RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIPS (URS)
Available for UK/EU students who wish to conduct PhD research that relates to the research interests of any one of the School's research clusters: Centre for Spatial Analysis and Policy (CSAP); Cities and Social Justice; Citizenship and Belonging; Ecology and Global Change and River Basin Processes and Management. Deadline for Faculty of Environment applications: 22nd March 2013.
UOL/CHINESE SCHOLARSHIPS COUNCIL - up to 10 available across the University
For citizens and permanent residents (at the time of application) of the People's Republic of China who wish to conduct PhD research that relates to the research interests of any of the School's research clusters: Centre for Spatial Analysis and Policy (CSAP); Cities and Social Justice; Citizenship and Belonging; Ecology and Global Change and River Basin Processes and Management. Deadline for applications: 4th January 2013.
