FaB is Bath’s only annual visual arts festival and we are looking for artists to submit work to the shows in this call out.

We actively promote and celebrate contemporary art in the Bath area and beyond, showcasing early career artists and curators, and those who find it difficult to break into (or prefer to operate outside of) the gallery based art scene. FaB frequently uses “alternative”, temporary exhibition spaces - anything from street corners, shops and shopping centres to front rooms and cafés.

This year we are very proud to say we will be running our art prize: ‘The FaB Open’ as an annual event based on the success of last year’s exhibition. The FaB Open is a competition and exhibition which allows all artists to enter, inviting work from artists practising contemporary art in the fields of painting, print, drawing, photography, film, sound, sculpture, installation, and performance.

We are a not for profit organisation and receive little funding, relying on enthusiastic volunteers to enable us to put on each year’s programme of shows and events.

HOW TO APPLY
Please read the requirements in each call out. The FaB Open Arts Prize has a submission fee of £12 per entry, it is free to submit proposals for all other call outs. If you are selected for 4, 5, 6, or 7 there will be a £12 administration charge per artist. This fee will go towards publicity and other costs incurred during the festival.

Email images as jpeg, text as Word or PDF files. All to be named as follows: surname, initial, title of work (eg Smithjuntitled.jpeg or Smithjuntitled.doc).

Submissions by post must include a SAE if you would like your work returned.

WHAT IS FAB?
FAB is a not for profit volunteer run company, we cannot do it without your help.

Fringe Arts Bath (FAB) is a small not-for-profit company that arranges a two-week programme of contemporary art exhibitions, events and workshops during Bath Fringe Festival in May/June each year. We aim to raise the profile of contemporary visual arts in Bath, provide opportunities for early-career and emerging artists, and put art in unusual places in unexpected ways for people to happen across.

The committee organizing the festival are all volunteers and all do it for the love of the visual arts. If you are keen on seeing more decent art happening in Bath and have a love for the visual arts as much as we do then get in touch!
