It is hideous, but unsurprising. Canada has veered sharply to the
right, and the government is reorienting its foreign aid policies to
support the development of extractive industries. It is gross (not
that I was in love with everything that the government supported
before, but this is absurd). Also the government now has one of the
most retrograde policies regarding anti-retroviral drugs and
transferring technology to the Third World.

There are not expletives vile enough to describe such a contemptible
approach to policy.
