Hi IPEG
I submitted our requests for 2013 IPEG events funding last Thursday. Three excellent IPEG workshops were proposed, thanks again members! If/when funding is approved I'll of course announce the specifics.
I can say now however that the Annual Conference is proposed to be held at University of Limerick and the themes are extremely interesting given our current global economic climate, and ongoing austerity and social struggle. I paste the blurb below so you can provisionally put it in your diaries. Owen to announce CfP shortly.

IPEG Annual Workshop 2013: ‘Austerity, Crisis, and Social Fallout’
Host: Department of Politics and Public Administration, University of Limerick, Owen Worth
Dates: 13 – 14 September, 2013
As the global financial crisis and the Euro Sovereign debt crisis continues to take hold of the global political economy, the social consequences of the fall-out has reached new heights. The relentless pursuit of 'austerity' measures in the developed world coupled by the slowing down of growth in the developing world and in the so-called emerging powers have led to new social inequalities that have led to new instabilities leading to extensive new areas of research in IPE.
The 2013 BISA International Political Economy Group conference brings together scholars working on global economic governance across a broad range of topics and issue-areas, including:
• The Global Financial Crisis and the Politics of Austerity
• Globalisation and new areas of exclusion
• The Financial Crisis and the developing world
• The Financial Crisis and the rise of the BRICS
• Neoliberalism and social welfare
• Neoliberalism and social policy
• Neoliberalism and the politics of resistance
• Global Political Economy and the emergence of regionalism
This will be a one-day workshop, although there will be keynote talks the evening before.
