2. Professor in Human Neuroscience - Royal Holloway, University of London
Professor in Human Neuroscience
Royal Holloway, University of London
Professorial salary is in the range £58,508 to £100,676 per annum inclusive of London Allowance, dependent on assessment through the College Professorial Pay Banding Scheme.
Applications are invited for a permanent post at Professorial level in the Department of Psychology, Royal Holloway, University of London. This post is part of a strategic initiative to further strengthen the Department’s research portfolio in sensory and cognitive neuroscience and to maximally exploit the Department’s recently upgraded MRI Unit.
We invite applicants that demonstrate an outstanding international research profile, publishing in top tier academic journals, and a strong track record in gaining research funding. Successful applicants will be expected to have an established program of research in the neuroscience of human behaviour and expertise in functional MRI. Additional experience in other MRI techniques (e.g. DTI or MRS), ERP/EEG and/or TMS will also be an advantage. The Department welcomes applicants who are using these methods for research in any sub-area of human neuroscience. It is envisaged that the appointee will take on the Directorship of our MRI unit and provide strong leadership for neuroscience research in the Department.
Informal enquiries regarding this post can be directed to the Head of Department, Professor John Wann ([log in to unmask]) or Director of Research, Professor Kathy Rastle ([log in to unmask]).

3. Postdoc Position on visual preference and visual regularities - University of Liverpool
Postdoctoral Researcher University of Liverpool - School of Psychology
This project (funded by the ESRC) explores the relationship between visual processing and emotional processing of visual patterns. Everyday visual operations such as binding, regularity detection, figure-ground separation and perceptual prediction error detection may interact with our emotional system. We are developing ways of measuring the links between these processes.
Responsibilities will include running behavioural and EEG experiments, analysing data and writing papers. You should hold a PhD (or about to) in Psychology or cognate area and have experience with behavioural experiments. Programming experience, and experience with EEG or eye tracking technology would be an advantage. The post is available for 3 years.
Closing Date: 7 January 2012
