Hi Neil,
Sorry, yes, England only!
Good feedback Re switch access. Hopefully there will be a genuine consultation process where we can feedback things like this.
RE computer access - no, they do not, BUT this is the specification for future services - i.e. hopefully 'Local Area Teams' (who are doing the specialist commissioning) will commission to this spec. Personally, I 'believe' that control of computers IS part of EC and definitely should be in the spec. I would rather control my computer than my TV.
I think we need to be careful about the words 'Environmental Control (which includes control of computers)' and 'Access methods' (which I think are the physical interfaces that someone uses to access a range of technology (e.g. EC unit, computer, VOCA). Pedantic maybe.
We also need to be careful that 'computer' is used appropriately - i.e. to include computing devices (smart phones etc) and we are not 'locked' into only working with windows-PCs!
Anyway, I think it is a big result that, finally, control of computers is recognised as a part of environmental controls and the people (Alan, Ajoy) who managed to get this included in the spec should be commended.
Cheers
Simon

Hi,
My little comments:
1. England only!
2. p308. "relying on their ECS to achieve single switch access". Is this really true for all English users?
3. p309. "computer control and access method". Do all Environmental Control Services provide this?

Dear all,
Many in AT services will be interested in this [1](re-posted from a message from Patrick on the CM forum). I will also post this to the services list that has been setup to facilitate consultation around commissioning of AT services (e.g. around the service specifications which should be out for consultation 'soon'). Details below if you are a UK AT service provider and are not on this. While we are at it, I am also trying to get/keep the EC services map up to date [3], again, please get in touch if you are not on this.
