... now you're talking :) I would bet that if you modify the SPM code to
save SPM.mat in the newer file format, as Matlab suggests ("To save this
variable, use the -v7.3 switch"), then your error message goes away.
This error might occurr due to the massive size this file is likely to
assume, which may be remedied when using the newer file version. If you
search for where this file should have been saved, likely in spm_spm.m,
and modify the line as per the above, this should get you going.
