Dear all,
Because of the recent dissatisfaction and some unsubscriptions, I’d like to remind you about some basics of jiscmail lists. The service is for higher education and for research communities for collaboration, making new contacts and keeping up with existing ones.
Our list is for Screenwriting Research Network, a group of scholars, reflective practitioners and practice-based researchers. The purpose is to rethink the screenplay in relation to its histories, theories, values and creative practices. The list is for sharing information and experiences on these topics.
Please, do _not_ use it for personal experiences or promoting your business. As all of us know the web is full of other services for these kind of things.
Since the network is now formally established it is very important that listmembers keep contributing and will be able to read the posts without becoming frustrated about the contents.
Screenwritingresearch.com – the new website, will open soon, with a discussion forum. I’m very sorry for the delay, which is caused by some technical problems. The forum is not replacing the jiscmail list but adds an option for more focused discussion. However, the same netiquette applies. Also, you will receive soon information on the SRN Facebook option available at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Screenwriting-Research-Network/267287743291327
Finally, here’s a quote from the jiscmail list provider: “Sending messages to JISCMail lists is generally a matter of common sense and courtesy, and users should be able to use their own sense of what is appropriate to guide their behaviour.”
Best wishes in the midst of the snowstorm,
Kirsi
