REF Impact Training Day in the Houses of Parliament – 10th December

Please find below details of a day of training the Industry and Parliament Trust is hosting in Parliament on the 10th December 2012, which we thought might be helpful to colleagues in Higher education involved in the planning for the Research Excellence Framework (REF) and preparation of REF impact case studies. The training will be an opportunity to explore how research across different faculties can be relevant to Parliament and Government and how best to present research to policy makers who might want to make use of research undertaken at a university.

This training will be for a small group in a dining room in the House of Commons. It will also include lunch, a tour of Parliament.
It will also be an opportunity to learn about Select Committees, All Party Groups, Parliamentary Research and Civil Service departments from people actively involved in the working of Parliament. We will finish the day with a roundtable with Catherine Coates, Chair of the Research Councils UK (RCUK) Impact Group.

We would be delighted if you can attend. If you, or one of your colleagues either in the academy or the administration would like to join us please contact Sarah Baldwin on 0207 839 9415 or at [log in to unmask]

With best wishes,
Gareth
