Course Outline:
There's an increasing array of emerging technologies which can be used
to successfully market your service. Moving beyond the social network
basics, this course will look at how to identify which technologies will
be useful for marketing your organisation, how to use them effectively,
and tips, tricks and general best-practice for marketing online. Topics
will include marketing with video, viral marketing, mastering
geolocation (such as FourSquare), mobile apps, publishing online,
getting the most out of QR Codes, and taking social media marketing to
the next level.
Who should attend:
This course is aimed at anyone already has a grounding in social media,
but wants to know how to take it to the next level and make better use
of the tools out there.
Course Presenter: Ned Potter
Ned Potter is an academic librarian at the University of York. He speaks
and writes on the subjects of marketing and emerging technologies, and
has provided marketing expertise for clients as diverse as Bodleian
Libraries and the Latvian Ministry of Culture. He has won various awards
including being named as a Library Journal Mover & Shaker in the
Marketing category, and he is the author of the Library Marketing
Toolkit published by Facet Publishing in 2012. He can be found online at
