List members may be interested in the latest event from the CIPR Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) group.
Under the title 'The landscape for STEM communication' the group will be meeting at 18:30 on Monday 3rd December in London for an investigation of the landscape affecting STEM communications. Topics to be tackled include:
- What is the future of science on TV news?
- How will science communication be affected by the next Government Comprehensive Spending Review (CSR)?
- How does Open Access publishing affect our role?
Chaired by Jim Sutton of the CIPR/Proof Communication, confirmed speakers already include:
- Tom Clarke, Science Editor, Channel 4 News
- Ian Mulvany, Head of Technology at eLife Sciences Publications Ltd
- Imran Khan, Director, Campaign for Science and Engineering
The event will be hosted by IChemE at 1 Portland Place, London with nibbles and drinks served from 17:45. CIPR members pay just £10 to attend the event with non-members paying £20.
