Apologies for cross posting.
For those of you who weren't able to attend the IBBY UK/NCRCL MA Conference:
Beyond the Book a couple of weeks ago, I thought you might be interested to
see the summary blog post from the day. This first post covers the main
speakers (Dr. Matthew Grenby from the University of Newcastle talking about
18th century children's book manuscripts; publishers Nosy Crow, Winged
Chariot and Hot Key Books discussing digital publishing; author Sita
Brahmachari on adapting Shan Tan's The Arrival for a circus-theatre
collaboration; school librarian Kay Waddilove and young book reviewer Emilia
Lamkin on shadowing book awards; David Wood on adapting books for the stage;
Pop Up director Dylan Calder with author Candy Gourlay and
author/illustrators James Mayhew and Karin Littlewood on the Pop Up
Festival; and Jim Kay on illustrating the Greenaway and Carnegie
Award-winning book, A Monster Calls).
You can read this first post here:

ssions/
This will soon be followed by a summary of the parallel sessions.
All of the summaries were written by alumni and current MA students on our
On-site and Distance Learning MA and PhD in Children's Literature. Many
thanks for their help!
All the best,
Laura
