Dear all,
I wonder if anyone can suggest titles (or images/illustrations) in
which we see (children's) book characters coming to life? A recent
example is in 'Otto the Book Bear' but I'm sure there are many more. I
used to have a greeting card (from V&A?) which showed a little girl
reading (I think) 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' and all the
characters were spilling out of the book. I seem to have given it some
lucky recipient (!) but would dearly love to trace it. Another famous
example fo this kind of thing is R W Buss's 'Dickens' Dream' where the
venerable author is seated in his study surrounded by the creatures of
his imagination. I wonder if this kind of thing has a specific name?
With thanks in advance for your thoughts and suggestions,
Kiera
