Dear MCGers,
below is some information from our Secretary, John Williams, about what's
involved in being on the MCG Committee and how to apply. We've had a
number of expressions of interest and some nominations already, so we
thought we'd make sure you all got the relevant information and knew what
you might be letting yourself in for.
Joining the MCG Committee is a great way to support your peers and help the
sector. It’s also an opportunity to meet people, gain valuable skills and
experience, and enhance your CV. If you are motivated to help and have a
few hours free each month then read on!
If you would like to nominate yourself then follow the guide below to email
John in time for the midday Thursday deadline. If you have any questions,
feel free to drop me a line.
Cheers, Mia

With only a few days to go until nominations close on the 29th November at
midday, now is the time to decide if you have the drive and energy required
to help run the Museums Computer Group.
The MCG committee is an active committee comprising members from all parts
of the sector working together to promote the use of technology in the
sector, to support and inspire our members through meetings like UKMW, and
most recently to develop professional development opportunities.
It isn't a quiet life but it is both lots of fun and very satisfying.
The guide at
http://museumscomputergroup.org.uk/about/volunteering-as-an-committee-member/provides
more information and background.
If you are interested in applying please send an email message to the
secretary, John Williams, at [log in to unmask] together
with a short summary saying who you are, what you do, and what you think
you could contribute to the MCG committee.
Make sure you use the subject *MCG Candidate Summary* to ensure your
message can be extracted easily from the message stream.
Candidates summaries will be posted on the MCG list on Thursday evening.
