The Cotesbach Educational Trust (CET) is seeking a part time
PROJECT DIRECTOR (28 hours per week)
£32,000 pro rata
Cotesbach Educational Trust, a registered charity, is renovating an 18th Century Schoolhouse and associated buildings, located on Cotesbach Estate, to provide a heritage and environment education resource centre. This exciting project aims to provide public access to a wealth of heritage resources, and in particular to promote these resources to schools,youth and specialist interest groups centred on heritage, the environment and the arts. The project has received a major grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to complete the building work, along with support from a number of trusts, foundations and other local supporters. The capital project is underway and scheduled for completion in Spring 2013 when the centre will be open to the public.
As part of the preparation work for submitting the HLF Stage Two funding bid, the Trustees have undertaken a detailed feasibility study which includes the preparation of a five year Business Plan and Activity Plan. We are now seeking a Project Director to lead the development and implementation of project activities, including the setting up of the education programmes, and ensuring the ongoing sustainability of the project. A large element of the revenue requirements for the first year of activities, including funding for this post, has already been secured.
The successful applicant will have a degree or equivalent and will have at least 3 years of experience of project management and/or working in a start-up situation; an awareness of how the project could benefit young people and contribute to national curriculum programmes of study; financial management skills; and the communication skills to promote the project to a wider range of external stakeholders and develop a range of new partnerships.
The post-holder will be expected to work from home, visiting the Cotesbach site as required and at least once per week, during the initial period while the buildings are being completed.
