Dear All,
I hope this finds you well.
Programme details are now available for "Making Sound Objects: Cultures of Hearing, Recording, Creating and Circulating", this year's BFE Annual One Day Conference to be held at the Pitt Rivers Museum, University of Oxford.
This interdisciplinary conference seeks to address the intersections between ethnomusicology, sound art, the anthropology of sound, and sound ethnography, and will include contributions from major sound thinkers and artists David Toop and Max Eastley.
Please see the dedicated website (for which major thanks are due to recent Oxford graduate in Visual and Material Anthropology, Whitney Conti).

Registration is now open and prices have been kept as low as possible and set at the same level as last year. Initial interest in the conference has been very high already - we were only able to programme a very small amount of the papers we received - and we are limited to 70 places. I would recommend registering online as soon as possible to guarantee a place as we expect to be oversubscribed very shortly.
Secure online registration is here

The conference website includes information about a recommended event in the Pitt Rivers Museum on Friday evening, 'Christmas Light Night', which will include a major public showcase of the museum's sound archive by torch light.
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any further information, and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in Oxford on November 23rd/ 24th.
Kind regards,
Noel
