At the Haddon Library -- one mid-size subject library within Cambridge Uni
-- the blogging and tweeting are all done by me, as the only member of the
3-person team having any interest in social media.
Our Twitter posts are mainly of two kinds:
1. Automated announcements of new posts on the blog, w. links to the full
version. And the blog posts consist mainly of service announcements.
2. Acknowledgements of some gifts -- not all, but where the gifts are of
new books recommended for reading, or are particularly generous, I will
tweet thanks to the donor and a link to where the book can be bought.
No measurable targets, tho', and no judgment as to use. Main benefit for
me of the above is that they give me an excuse to tell lecturers about my
own Twitter enthusiasm. #2 above is done by me from home, as I have a
personal rule against using Twitter -- either the library account or my
own -- when I'm at work.
All the best
Aidan
