Treasures of the National Library of Scotland: a free visit for CILIP
members on 14 November 2012, 2:30pm-4:30pm at the National Library of
Scotland, George IV Bridge, Edinburgh EH1 1EW.
This is a rare opportunity to see and hear about some of the highlights
of our collections. There'll be early printed material, some of it
unique, like the first books printed in Scotland; illuminated medieval
texts; some original Robert Burns; Gaelic manuscripts; an 18th century
copy of Homer that belonged to four prime ministers; Scottish political
collections and some iconic religious material, and much more.
The visit is free of charge but is open only to CILIP Rare Book and
Special Collections Group members. Numbers are limited to 30 places, so
booking is essential.
To book please email Anette Hagan at [log in to unmask], quoting your CILIP
membership number, before Monday 12 November.
