The Call for Papers for Umbrella 2013 has just been issued and can be found at http://ow.ly/ezpIs
As Theme Chair for the Information Matters strand, I'd like to draw your attention in particular to that theme - though I'm sure my fellow Chairs would like you to consider theirs too!
To indicate the kind of proposal the IM selection panel is hoping to receive, here are the suggested topics for this theme as listed in the Call for Papers :
• Technological advances in knowledge and information management and links to digital and information literacy
• Government information and support for research, information and knowledge management and library services across the academic, corporate and public sectors
• Open data, information governance, information security, records management and the KIM professional
• The role of information professionals in web and data, intranet management, information architecture
• Knowledge Management growth in new sectors: e.g. health and public sector and best practice in KIM in business and commercial settings
However followers of this List will know that IM and KM are broad churches and I'm sure many list members will want to present other topics that would not only inform but inspire the Umbrella audience about IM, KM and related issues. The Call closes at the end of November which is when abstracts have to be received : successful proposers will be asked to write their full papers early in 2013 (the conference takes place in July). There is a range of different formats for presentations and papers - see the Call for details of these and where to send abstracts for evaluation.
We'd love to be overwhelmed with choices from your excellent proposals (and my excellent panel of judges would like to have plenty to do!) so please look at the call and share your stories with the Umbrella audience.
