I'd echo Sam's recommendation. I had a look around a few weeks ago and
couldn't find any information about how to upgrade a UI from gLite 3.2
to EMI-2. In the end it's a lot simpler to wipe the slate clean and
start from scratch - neither the UI nor the WNs are critical services
which must stay up all the time.
Incidentally, I didn't understand your comment about certificates -
neither the WN nor the UI need host certificates.
