Dear All,
We are in the process of migrating from our old site-bdii to a new one
(UMD2 based). The new site-bdii is also a cream service for the site.
After we installed and configured through yaim, we noticed that when
doing a ldap search in the new site-bdii (cream01.grid.auth.gr), the
Mds-Vo-name appears in lowercase (only this tag, all others are in the
appropriate case). When we perform the same test to the old site-bdii
(sbdii.grid.auth.gr) the Mds-Vo-name appears in capital letters.
This occurs only when the we use o=grid (Glue 1.3 Schema) for ldap
search and not when we use o=glue (Glue 2 Schema) where the results
appears in capital letters, as it should be.
Searching about this on cream known issues [1] we found that there is a
known issue similar to ours, that relates to the ticket 84509. This
issue however doesn't affect us, since we have the latest version of the
package lcg-info-dynamic-software-1.0.7-2.emi.
Following the related ticket (84509), we tried changing the {lc($tag)}
to {$tag} on file
/usr/libexec/glite-ce-glue2-applicationenvironment-dynamic which still
doesn't solve the issue.
We do not know if this issue is really a problem, since it only applies
when searching with glue 1.3 schema which is case insensitive, and not
with glue 2 which is not.
Using glue-validator to do various tests on our site we noticed that
while testing for glue1 schema with the commands:
#glue-validator -h cream01.grid.auth.gr -p 2170 -b
mds-vo-name=gr-01-auth,o=grid -t glue1
#glue-validator -h cream01.grid.auth.gr -p 2170 -b
mds-vo-name=GR-01-auth,o=grid -t glue1
#glue-validator -h cream01.grid.auth.gr -p 2170 -b
mds-vo-name=GR-01-AUTH,o=grid -t glue1
we always get the same result. Thus is this issue really a problem, or
we can neglect it?
On all configuration files under [2-5] the site name is written with
capital letters.
We believe that this problem is created from the coexistence of
site-bdii and cream service. In specific we have noticed that the
package bdii-config-site-1.0.6-1.el5 depends on openldap2.4, while the
cream service (resource bdii) depends on the default openldap version
2.3. The actual version used behind site bdii service in 2.3. Thus there
is either a wrong dependency on package bdii-config-site or this is
indeed needed and is not actually used.
Thank you for your assistance in the first place with this issue. The
first thing we need to sort out is whether this is really an issue or not.
Best,
Georgios
