Hi Sean,

the messages you are seeing are not from gLExec calling LCAS/LCMAPS but
from the gridftp server calling LCAS/LCMAPS, via the
lcas-lcmaps-gt4-interface.
For the UMD-1 version of lcas-lcmaps-gt4-interface, you can't yet
completely solve it. in any case, you need to set LCAS_LOG_FILE and
LCMAPS_LOG_FILE env variables in the gridftp server configuration,
typically either /etc/gridftp.conf or
/etc/sysconfig/globus-gridftp-server
That will leave some messages from the lcas-lcmaps-gt4-interface itself.

In the /etc/gridftp.conf they should start with a $ sign as in
$LCMAPS_LOG_FILE /var/log/...
in the /etc/sysconfig/globus-gridftp-server as in
export LCMAPS_LOG_FILE /var/log/...
Probably YAIM can/should do that for you...

In the UMD-2 version of the lcas-lcmaps-gt4-interface, you should be
able to at least specify a custom log facility for the remaining
messages, via a variable LLGT_LOG_FACILITY. The latest version, to be
released via IGE into UMD, lcas-lcmaps-gt4-interface-0.2.5 will allow
you to log directly to file. For that you would then need to set an
environment variable LLGT_LOG_FILE with the correct value.

Hope this helps, if you have further questions, please let us know.

    Best regards,
    Mischa
