Scott,
How far back do you want to go in your investigation? I don't doubt there are plenty of instances of economists broadcasting on the BBC throughout its history, and I would expect some of their broadcasts to have appeared in the Listener. Off the top of my head, I know that Arnold Plant gave a series of six broadcasts in 1931/32, and I know that there were many other economics-related talks, given by economists, around then. In fact, I would guess that economic crises have generally been boom times for economists in the media!

Subject: [BBC-HISTORY] Economics on the BBC
A plea for help... I was wondering if anybody knew whether there was any
work currently being done on The Money Programme? (Or indeed, on any aspect
of financial journalism at the BBC.)
I am currently putting together a workshop for next year entitled
'Interrogating Economics in the Public Sphere' and if anyone is/has
colleagues/students etc working in this broad area I'd be grateful if you
could pass this message on/put them in touch.
Best wishes
Scott Anthony
