I am not quite sure what "fear" Arthur is talking about.

Of course people are free to make comments about the whole world, but the
question is this: is the purpose of this list to focus on Black and Asian
Studies, or is it to provide space where people can circulate material on
whatever topic that strikes their mind?

As regards the Middle East, well naturally it is no doubt a concern to all
sorts of people and there are a range of places where people are able to
discuss their concerns.

I do not think having a focus is a limit. Clearly the history of African
and Asian people in the UK has links with pretty much everywhere and
everything.

If those links are relevant, then I am sure people will include them in a
posting to this list. I do not see why there should be a problem.

I have generally remained "quiet" because there is nothing I particularly
have to say at the moment..

Yes, I am quite interested in George Wells Parker and the Hamitic League
of the World, but in the end I am much more interested in Cyril Briggs and
the African Blood Brotherhood.

So really I do not understand whither this discussion is going?
