Senior Librarian - Local Studies
£31,754 - £35,430 pa (pro rata for 18.5 hours per week Job Share)
The post holder will take a lead in planning, developing and implementing the promotion of countywide initiatives relating to local studies and community archives across Hertfordshire. You will have experience of delivering local study services and a broad knowledge of current developments, both local and national, in the area of archives and local studies. Managing and monitoring the materials fund budget for local studies are an important part of the job role, and you will be required to direct and co-ordinate stock selection to ensure an effective level of provision. The ability to communicate orally and in writing is essential as you will be working with library colleagues, senior management within HCC, volunteers, the public and partner organisations. Exceptional organisation and project management skills play a vital part in this role. You will have developed skills in coaching and training, as well as an understanding of all aspects of ICT and be competent in its use.
