Good day,
having tried to convince many mentors in London and around London to act as a supervisor for my Chartership process (Library Assistant) unsuccessfully, I want to try finding a mentor by using this forum now. Instead of unsuccessfully applying to people directly, I thought I might use this forum to widen the approach to find a mentor.
Would there be a CILIP-registered mentor in London or the Home Counties to mentor me during my Chartership process?
I have been working since 15 years in a College of Higher Education ('Regent's College London') and am looking for a mentor who is working in a similar field. I am interested in gaining a Chartership to formalise the experience I gained so far and work towards a certification, which I can use for future job application or training purposes. I can draw experience from a variety of Library work (from customer service to cataloguing, production of statistical reports to maintaining the computerised Library system ['Heritage'], only to give some examples) and bring experience from outside the Library, for example public speaking. Fluent German language skills are available.
Further information about me will be supplied to any interested mentor.
Best regards
Sven Griesenbeck
