Just a reminder that the 19th October is the first meeting of the Scottish Youth Culture Network (SYCN) 3:30-5 pm, seminar room of the MRC, SPHSU, University of Glasgow - 4 lilybank Gardens. SYNC is a discussion group, somewhat similar in format to SPAN, focusing on all aspects of youth culture.
Along with myself, Andy Furlong, Josie Williams & Alasdair Forsyth with be presenting on: 'Youth (sub)culture and ‘troubled’ teenagers'. Hopefully, there will be some natural overlaps with SPAN and any SPAN members are more than welcome to attend - and hopefully present at a future meeting. The format is informal and suggestions for future topics and speakers are most welcome.
If you need any further details feel free to get in touch and also feel free to pass the details onto any folk you think might be interested.
PS there will also be a repeat session at Glasgow Caledonian University, 1st of Nov, with a slightly different line-up
