Lectureship
Mullard Space Science Laboratory
A new lectureship post in Cosmology/Astrophysics has been created within
the Astrophysics Group at Mullard Space Science Laboratory, UCL,
underpinned by our strong involvement in the upcoming /Euclid/ mission.
We are looking for candidates with internationally leading research
records. There is no restriction on area of application, although we are
particularly interested in candidates in the areas of cosmological model
testing, large-scale structure and gravitational lensing providing
synergy with our involvement in the /Euclid/ satellite missions.The
successful applicant will be expected to pursue a vigorous research
programme in cosmology/astrophysics and to build MSSL/UCL capability and
visibility in this field. The candidate will also fulfill a teaching
responsibility at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
MSSL is a world-leading research organisation and is the UK's largest
university-based space research group delivering a broad, cutting-edge
science programme, underpinned by a strong capability in space science
instrumentation, space-domain engineering, systems engineering and
project management. Our scientific research ranges from cosmology and
the study of extra-galactic objects, to studies of the Sun, the planets
and their moons, and the Earth. We also research and develop the next
generation of space instrumentation.
The salary will be in the Lecturer grade 8 range: GBP 37,012 to
GBP 44,166, plus relocation benefits. The appointment grade will be
commensurate with accomplishment and experience. The start date will be 1
April 2013 or as soon as possible after that.
