I'm not sure I know what you mean by that, or if I think youtube is the
best aggregate for what good spoken word is/can be. And I don't think we
even mean the same thing when we say "slam poetry", because it's a pretty
broad concept. To me it's the same as spoken word, unless we're talking
about battling, a.k.a. freestyle slam. But it's all poetry to me in any
case. And yes, most of what seems to get shunted into the category is
cliché and cut corners and adolescent spew. But there are those who do it
well. Though really, these days, if I want those kicks I either write it
myself or listen to rap!
