The Chair for Supply Chain Management (Prof. Dr. Christian Almeder) at the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) is seeking for a
PhD / Research Assistant - part time 75%
in Operations Management / SCM
(Reference number: 1203-12-01)
(salary group 13 TV-L, 30 hours/week)
starting at the earliest convenience. Initial duration is three years, with a possible extension for another three years.
Tasks:
- Scientific work (i.e., research, publications, presentations, etc.) on the research topics of the chair in the fields of production and operations management, logistics, and supply chain management
- Assisting in the teaching program of the chair (i.e., preparation and holding of courses in English, correcting of homework and examinations, supervising bachelor and master thesis)
- Assisting in the organization of the chair and the university
Requirements:
- Degree of a university in business administration or a (closely) related area (mathematics, computer science, operations research, etc.)
- Knowledge in the area of production and operations management, logistics, supply chain management
- Knowledge in the application of quantitative methods (combinatorial optimization, linear programming, simulation)
- Basic knowledge in at least one programming language (preferably Java or C++)
- Interest in scientific work (PhD) in one of the areas of production and operations management, logistics, or supply chain management
- Good knowledge of the English language (writing, conversation, presentation)
- Knowledge of the German language is preferable but not essential.
- Creativity and good analytic skills
