I don't have documentary knowledge but would be pleased to supply some
details as experienced by the civilian 'recipients'. I wuz there!
You are right. I'm sure we were more healthy on the whole. Certainly
slimmer, albeit not so tall!

Can I anyone suggest any sources on how the food ration was worked out
immediately before and during the Second World War?
The only stuff I've managed to find are wartime cookbooks and staff aimed at
kids on how lucky (I would argue unlucky) are today in not having to put up
with food rationing.
