Subject: Land grabs, biofuels and prices
Dear all,
Tim Williams of Edward Elgar publishing thought that the following news
links would be of interest to GNHRE members:
http://www.oxfamblogs.org/fp2p/?p=11959 - and
http://news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/newsid_9757000/9757113.stm
Tim points out that the stories drive at the fact that developing
countries are selling a large proportion of agricultural land to foreign
investors, with implications for local subsistence farmers and food
prices. He rightly notes that the issue touches on so many of the issues
the JHRE has covered and may be of interest to the GNHRE network.
I thought I would pass his links and comments on to you all.
Warm regards,
Anna
