Hi Charlotte,
Thank you for the invitation to the Big Draw 2012 A-Side B-Side Event.
I am interested in publishing a review of the Big Draw event (between 500 words and 1000 words) for the guest issue of Visual inquiry Journal. Visual Inquiry is dedicated to publishing research related to art teaching in all education contexts and the guest issue features drawing practice as a medium in art education. As the guest editor I wish to bring to attention, besides articles and essays, a series of reviews for exhibitions, books and events related to drawing.
WOuld you be interested to write a short review on this event after the event ends? Images can also be included (providing copyright clearance).
Please let me know.
Many thanks.
Best,
Adriana

Subject: [DRAWING-RESEARCH] Call for proposals - London Exhibition
The Big Draw 2012 at A-Side B-Side
24 hr Draw-in
It's a Draw-in. The gallery will be open to everyone from 1pm on
Saturday 20th October until 1pm Sunday 21st October, and all drawings
will be made and shown in the gallery space between these times. Work
must be drawing, but can be made using any media and might interrogate
what drawing can be.
It's about drawing-in. Artists will make work in the gallery that is
open to participation or active engagement. The aim is to engage groups
and individuals from within the community. Drawings could be
wall-based, static or moving, and might include events, performances,
talks, films or installations.
Call for proposals:
Who: Artists working with drawing.
What: Drawings made using any materials that invite participation.
When: Between 1pm 20th October and 1pm 21st October.
Where: A-Side B-Side Gallery, Hackney Downs Studios.
Artists are invited to propose a drawing - image, object, event or
activity - that invites participation or active engagement. The theme
for the Big Draw this year is 'in lines'. Works proposed should be
suitable for audiences of all ages. There will be no charge to
artists for taking part, and no fee will be paid. Some basic
materials can be supplied, but artists accept responsibility for
providing anything specialist or specific that they might need.
Please reply to [log in to unmask] with proposals (no more than 150 words) and one image or
link to work online.
All best wishes,
Charlotte
