Dear colleague / friend
Apologies for any cross-posting.
As you may know, Ruskin College, the trade union and labour movement college, founded in Oxford in 1899, has just moved from its central location to the outskirts of the city. In the course of this move much archival material representing the history of this pioneering College has been destroyed.
This includes unique records of the working-class students who attended Ruskin in its first decades.
An article is available on History Workshop Online http://www.historyworkshop.org.uk/whose-archive-whose-history-destruction-of-archives-at-ruskin-college-oxford/

Please sign the petition http://www.thepetitionsite.com/120/368/331/stop-further-archive-destruction-at-ruskin-college-oxford/
Please also disseminate this as widely as possible - particularly on facebook and twitter - to stop further destruction of the material culture of Ruskin.
Thanks
Hilda
