Well connected people in 'working together' shocker.
It has emerged that people with similar interests sometimes work together. In a sinister twist, it appears that people who have some prior relationship are more prone to this 'co-operation'.
Professor Howard McMulchin of the Institute of Studies commented, 'Sometimes, people who have the drive and energy to put together a project that interests them are brazen and unashamed enough to take some control of that project. Quite often that means that they work with people they know and trust. This "networking" is of course disgusting and despicable. It must stop.'
Academics are well known for pursuing their intellectual agendas with little support from the outside, often because their ideas are obscure, make no-one any money, and contribute to learning, added Professor McMulchin.
Dr Jefferson Savage, a paleo-orthodontist at Cambox University's Institute of Prehistoric Dentistry, has a long and controversial history of drawing on the help of his colleagues to achieve scholarly goals.
'The big issue for workshops and things is finding someone interesting and presentable who speaks English and won't throw up over the lectern,' he said. 'Oh, and of course it's always nice when they are cutting edge scholars whose ideas I find challenging'.
Savage freely admits to co-operating with friends and colleagues, but he has this message of shocking arrogance for his critics: 'When someone sets up a workshop or a journal you don't like the colour of, quit whining and set up one of your own.'
