Thanks Celine
I read in LC training module 2 this week that a compilation was a resource where you had an indication of who created what - for example, from the contents page.
To start with I thought this meant such a compilation then resulted in a new work.
But I have just looked again at my notes, where I seem to have written that in a compilation like this there is no creator because there is no single creator of the individual work. So therefore they would be contributors - as you say.
A collaboration on the other hand (which the LC training described as no indication of who created which bit), would have creators.
So I might be revising my opinion.

On this, there is a good outline of the instructions about how to decide whether something is a collaboration (which has creators) or a compilation (which only has contributors) in the BL WEMI workflow. It's based on definitions in RDA 6.27.1.3 and 6.27.1.4.
While I'm reading it, it makes perfect sense. Then I'm faced with an example and am unsure again...
