On what may or may not be a related note, our configuration has
the torque server separate to the CE, and we were getting errors
in the torque server logs about it failing to authenticate the
ldap and tomcat users from the CE for queries. It seems that (at
least) with a munge-ified setup the accounts need to exist on
the torque server (possibly with the same UID) as well as on the
CE itself. I fixed it by installing the relevant packages on the
torque server - I could have set the accounts up manually, but the
RPMs only take up a few meg of disk space, and they should just sit
there harmlessly doing nothing.
