Hello all,
Here at Keele we are in the early stages of considering whether to adopt a 'fit to sit' extenuating circumstances policy, which would deal only with ECs that relate to health / personal matters that have prevented completion or submission of coursework on time or prevented sitting an examination, and would not apply to the adjustment of marks.
We are considering this change because we want to streamline our EC processes (by removing ECs in relation to performance) and simplify decision-making on EC claims across our dual honours programmes.
I would be greatful to hear the views of any colleagues at insitutions that have undertaken such a move on the benefits and disadvantages of such an approach.
Thank you in advance,
Melody Butters
